Returns, Exchanges, & Custom Orders
Return and Exchange Policy
Thank you for your purchase! I take great pride in my craftsmanship and aim to provide quality products that you'll love. If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your item, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me within 14 days of receipt. I’m more than happy to assist you with an exchange or return (excluding shipping fees).
Exchanges: To ensure a smooth process, I kindly ask that you return the original item in its original condition and that it be shipped back within 14 days of receiving your order. Once I receive it, I’ll be glad to send out your exchange at your expense, using a postal tracking number for your convenience.
Return Requests: If you would like to initiate a return, please contact me to arrange the return within 14 days of delivery. All returns must be in brand new condition, unwashed and unworn. Returns need to be postmarked for return within 14 days of receiving your order. During the holiday season, this window is extended until January 15th to accommodate gift exchanges.
Important Note: Please understand that some items are not eligible for return or exchange, including: - Custom or personalized orders - Special size, fabric, or closure requests and all items purchased at in person events.
Return Conditions: Buyers are responsible for the return postage. Please send items in their original packaging or similar protective packaging with all tags attached. This means hats need to be shipped in a box, not crumpled up and thrown into a shipping bag. Unfortunately, I cannot accept returns of hats that were shipped in paper envelopes, as this may compromise their shaping and condition. If a return arrives in unacceptable packaging and is not in its original condition, either damaged due to shipping or with signs of obvious wear, the item will be put in my sale bin, and will issue a refund will be issued based on the sale bin price (for example, a 5-panel hat would be refunded at $25). Thank you for understanding the importance of proper packaging for handmade items!
Purchases made at REI or Kingdom Trails:
Unfortunately, I cannot accept returns or exchanges on purchases made through other retailers. Please refer to their individual store return policies for guidance.
Purchases Made at In-Person Events/Markets: Thank you so much for supporting my small business at an in-person event! I really appreciate each of the sales I make at different markets throughout the year. Many of the items you see at these events are truly one-of-a-kind or made in limited quantities, and they often aren’t available in my online shop, consequently, all purchases made in person are FINAL SALE.
By choosing to purchase an item at the event, you’re not only taking home something special but also helping me maintain a variety of unique offerings for future customers. Because my inventory is so limited and each piece is made with love, I ask that you try things on and carefully consider your selections before making a purchase. Thank you for understanding as a small business returns on can be a bit challenging given their unique handmade nature. If you have any questions or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Thank you for being part of our community!

Thank you for your support and understanding!
Sizing & Custom Orders
I AM CURRENTLY NOT EXCEPTING CUSTOM ORDERS AT THIS TIME
Sizing:
Our adult hats generally measure 22 1/2 and can be extended about 1" more around with the back closure. Some fabrics do have more stretch than others and, therefore, can vary slightly in fit. Kids hats measure approximately 19” and can extend up to 21 1/2”. Size small hats 21 1/2” and can extend up to 22 1/2”, and size large hats measure 23 1/2” up to 24 1/2”. Please keep in mind that all of the hats are individually made, and the print layout on your hat might vary slightly from what is shown in the picture.
If more of the fabric is available, I can offer most hats in a size small or large (or kids’ size) on request. Please contact me BEFORE placing an order to see if the specific hat you are interested in is available to be made in another size. There is no additional charge for having a hat made in my standard size, small or large, or in a kids’ size; however, please note that because the hat has been made in a size per your request, it is not eligible for return or exchange.
Custom Orders:
I am currently NOT accepting custom orders, as I am gearing up for the outdoor summer show season. Small requests, such as for a different color snapback or string color, may be possible to accommodate for a small fee, depending on your order. Please feel free to contact me prior to placing your order to find out if this is possible for your specific item.
Depending on my availability, larger versions or smaller versions of hats and custom-size orders can be made on request. For one-of-a-kind/ custom orders, hats start at $84+ each. The total cost will depend on the fabric type, hat style, and amount of customization, such as necessary pattern alterations for additional size accommodation or requests for specific fabrics.
Custom sizing and custom design are two different things. Requesting a custom size does not automatically include custom fabrics or colors.
If you’re looking for a custom size in one of my existing styles using current fabrics, those pieces start at $84. From there, additional customizations, such as unique color combinations, alternative back closures, added rope, or sewn-on patches, are priced individually based on the request. For example, a hat that includes both a custom size and a custom color will typically start around $94+, depending on the level of detail.
Because each hat style is constructed differently, customization options vary, and pricing reflects the time, labor, and materials required to bring your idea to life. I do my best to keep my pricing accessible, but custom work is a more involved process. It often includes additional back-and-forth communication, sourcing or sharing fabric options, sampling, pattern adjustments, and the final cutting and sewing of your piece.
For this reason, I generally work within the materials I already have on hand. Due to the nature of my small-batch business, I’m usually not able to source entirely new fabrics or colors outside of my current inventory.
Can I send you fabric to make a custom hat?
Yes! It’s definitely possible to send me fabric to make a unique hat, in one of my available hat styles, except for backcountry hats. The cost for having a hat made out of a fabric you send to me starts at $94. Fabric needs to be a non-stretch, tight weave, woven material. It should be clean (washed before you send it to me) or brand new.
Great hats start with the right materials. Fabrics like button-down shirting, denim, canvas, and linen all work beautifully, offering the structure and durability needed for everyday wear.
I also welcome well-loved garments for upcycling. Old Carhartts, ski jackets, windbreakers, or other pieces with life left in them can be reimagined into something entirely new. Most fabrics will need to be reinforced with interfacing before they’re transformed into a hat. That’s part of my process, and something I take care of once your materials arrive.
When you send in fabric, you’re trusting my eye to interpret it—selecting the most interesting sections, balancing color, texture, and composition to create a cohesive final piece. If there’s a specific detail or area you’d love to see featured, feel free to let me know. I’ll always do my best to incorporate it into the design.
How do I Place a Custom Order?
PLEASE NOTE THAT I AM CURRENTLY NOT TAKING CUSTOM ORDER REQUESTS AT THIS TIME
Please use the “Contact Us” tab on the website to send me a request. In your message, please include your desired hat style, fabric choice, measurements (if you want a custom size), and any other details about when you would like with your request for a custom order. Please note that a custom fabric request does not necessarily mean you get a custom size. There is an additional cost for a custom color/fabric and having a custom-sized hat made. For more info, please read the above sections on Custom Orders first, before sending your request.
To help you take measurements, further instructions can be found below. It is important to measure the first time correctly, as custom orders are not refundable or eligible for exchange.
How to measure your head circumference?
*Materials needed: a cloth measuring tape or a piece of string, a ruler, a pen/ pencil, and paper to write down your measurements.
It is best to take your measurements in front of a mirror so that you see where the measuring tape is sitting when you measure. You want to measure from the center of your forehead, around the back of your head, and back to the center of your forehead, at approximately the same place a hat would sit just above your ears. Then measure the distance over the top of your head from ear to ear, starting at where you would like the hat to sit on your head. For example, if you are someone who wants the hat to sit down lower, behind your ears, you will want to start your measurement there and end it in roughly the same place on the other side, rather than measuring from the top of your ear.
***Generally, belts on bags can be adjusted to your size request. Please include that info in the notes when you place your order.***
